La Mejorada

La Mejorada winery and its vineyards have been set up in an old Jerome monastery, founded in the 15th century by Fernando I of Aragon. Thanks to the architect Rafael Moneo and his family, the monastery of La Mejorada is, today, almost entirely restored and adapted to the typical activities of a winery.

Since 2004, Winery and Vineyards La Mejorada produces the best red wines under the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) of Wines from Castilla y León – Villalar, Cabernet Sauvignon, Las Norias, Las Cercas, Tiento and Palomar de la Reina -, manufactured with extreme care by our team of oenologists and technicians. Our viticulture is based on the non-intervention of chemical products in the management of the vineyard, with the certainty that the equilibrium of a vine-producing ecosystem is the guarantee that no plagues or diseases are present in the vineyard.

“Our viticulture is based on the non-intervention of chemical products in the management of the vineyard.”

La Mejorada aims to express with its wines, as sincerely as possible, the terroir of La Mejorada; in other words, the influence of the land, the microclimate and its effects on the plant and, therefore, on the grape. We seek fineness and elegance that transports all those who drink a La Mejorada wine to its landscape
